Terms of Use
1. About these terms
These terms apply to your use of the Elbbridge website at elbbridge.com, including reading the essays published online and downloading the typeset PDF versions. By using the site you agree to these terms.
2. Reading the essays
The essays under At the Decision Point are published openly on the website and free to read. You may share links to them and forward them to peers. The essays are written by Matthias Evers and published by Elbbridge.
3. The typeset PDF
The typeset PDF of each essay is made available after you provide your name, email, and a description of your role. The PDF is intended for reading, annotation, and circulation among colleagues. You may print it, mark it up, and share it with peers. You may not republish it on a public site, repackage it into a derived work, or remove the author and publication notice.
4. Intellectual property
All content on the site, including the essays and the PDFs, is the work of Matthias Evers and Elbbridge and is protected by copyright. You retain the rights set out in section 3 above. All other rights are reserved.
5. Not investment, legal, or medical advice
The essays are commentary and analysis, not investment, legal, tax, or medical advice. They do not constitute an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any security. Nothing on this site creates a client relationship. Decisions you take after reading the essays are your own.
6. Senior advisory engagements
Senior advisory engagements are arranged by direct inquiry to matthias@elbbridge.com and governed by a separate engagement agreement signed at the time. These terms do not govern such engagements.
7. Accuracy
We make best efforts to be accurate and to label uncertainty honestly. The biology–AI landscape moves quickly; specific facts in older essays may be overtaken by events. Reliance on any specific claim is at your own risk.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Elbbridge and Matthias Evers are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. The courts in Hamburg have exclusive jurisdiction.
